Eudunda Hospital is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, commemorating the event with an Open Day on Sunday 28 October from 10:30am to 5pm.
Debbie Martin, Director Inner North Country Health Service said the Open Day was a chance for staff, Health Advisory Council and former Board members to celebrate the
achievements of the hospital.
“For the past 90 years Eudunda Hospital has been providing quality health care to local residents and this would not have been possible without the dedication of our hardworking staff and volunteers,” Ms Martin said.
“We are also proud to share this milestone with the Eudunda community, as it is their generosity, support and interest which ensure the hospital functions so well.”
The Open Day will offer tours of the hospital, food stalls, games and face painting for children, entertainment from the Adelaide City Jazz men, local stall holders selling
goods, raffles and hospital souvenirs for sale.
The new Bocce Court will also be opened and those attending on the day are encouraged to come and test out the grounds. The Bocce Court was made possible
thanks to the garden committee and community support from Jakelco Contracting and Mantina Quarries.
Eudunda Hospital was officially opened on 28 January 1922 as a community hospital, built through donations from local residents.
The hospital was redeveloped to include aged care in the 1990s but remained an acute hospital providing emergency services and medical admissions.
It has continued to develop its aged care services, offering residential transitional care beds and residential respite.
In recent years Eudunda Hospital has become a community hub by opening up the daycentre to various community groups, the development of the community garden and
other local events such as concerts and lifestyle expos.
Ms Martin said staff, HAC and former board members and auxiliary, both past and present, were encouraged to come along to the Open Day to join in the festivities.
“The support and contributions from the Eudunda community has always been outstanding and we would love to all celebrate Eudunda Hospital together at the Open
Day,” Ms Martin said.
The Open Day is proudly sponsored by the Keg Factory, Johnsons, Point Pass Hotel, Hidden Treasures, Yalumba, Bandicoot Clothing, Barossa Enterprises and Elders.
