Local cycle enthusiast Luke Herriman spotted a ride posted  on the BikeSA website that was coming through Eudunda on 19th February 2016.

As the ride was on the same day as his discovery, there were some quick messages back and forth with Richard Scheer who had posted the event online,

Hoping to find out more, Luke discovered that the riders normally stop at Eudunda for a quick break, so he thought he would go talk to them and find out more about their challenge and what sort of gear they used.

Luke met up with the riders Richard Scheer, Ben Del Fabbro & Mick Sturgess about 1am as they approached the Eudunda Lookout corner.

All wear reflective stripes on there clothing and flashing tail lights for best visibility at night. Ben has done 4-5 years of this type of riding, and Richard is the most experienced having completed about 200 of these rides over the last 10 years, averaging over 300kms in distance per ride. Mick has only recently re-ignited his passion for long distance riding after having a break.

Mick Sturgess  – information about the ride on Strava (an online app) below might give some insight into thier ride.
