Katelyn’s 2 Day Tour – Tour de Eudunda 2014

Hard work for riders on Saturday as they rode through the Barossa Valley and faced a head wind and warm to hot conditions. They were extremely happy to see their destination of Eudunda late in the afternoon. Massages, Showers, a meal at the Eudunda Hall put on by the ‘Catering Committee’, presentations and entertainment at the Eudunda Club finished the night off.

Saturday Ride Summary.
After paying thier respects to Katelyn at Smithfield the riders headed off at 8am for One Tree Hill, then Gawler’s Pioneer Park. A quick rest and off to Gomersal Turn, Sturt Hwy Nurse Rd, Greenock CFS Car Park, Tanunda’s Rec Centre and a meal break at Angaston Main Street.

Not too much rest before 1:40pm when everyone headed off for Stockwell, Truro, Dutton Parking bay, Neales Flat for Hoffman’s Footside Farm, Final destination being Eudunda main street and the Eudunda Club where there was entertainment for everyone.

Sunday Ride Summary.
Everyone up for a 9am start at Eudunda, head up the hill to Illawarra, Kapunda, Hamilton and then Marrabel for a break at the Marrabel Pub and a quick stroll.

Leaving from Marrabel at 1:40pm riders headed off to Hamilton, Kapunda, Freeling and Gawler to Apex Park with the Kingsford Hotel in easy sight.

A lovely touch was that each section was dedicated to the memory of a ‘Heart Kid’.

My Story

My precious daughter Katelyn was born and lived with a serious heart condition for 10 years. Sadly, Katelyn passed away on the 10th of July 2009 while on the waiting list for a heart transplant. Katelyn’s courage and determination inspired many and her amazing smile will never be forgotten.

I am committed to raising much needed funds and awareness for HeartKids SA in her memory, so that other families going through similar difficult journeys can be assisted.I want to ensure our bereaved families can be supported through what is clearly the most difficult times in their lives. Tour de Eudunda

• Katelyn’s 2 Day Tour – Eudunda here we come!
Moonta, Clare & Mannum have been invaded over the last 3 years and on the weekend of 8th-9th March 2014 it will be Eudunda’s turn.
I am keen to get the dedicated team of riders back on their bikes to support HeartKids SA in memory of all our precious ‘Heart Angels’.
The journey will be approx 250km with a bus load of supporters again making the trip (with a few fun filled detours).

One of the fun things happening in Eudunda

The countdown is on and the excitement is building.
The K2DT awards will be announced Saturday night at the Eudunda Club. ‘King of the Mountain’, ‘Queen of the Valley’ are all there to be won but who will take home the prestigious ‘Princess’ award this year?
